NS, I wouldn’t trust her as far as I could throw her. At the end of the day she is a hard nosed businesswoman who will do whatever she deems necessary to turn a profit for her company. But in the context of this particular meeting I’d much rather have someone like her representing the club than someone like Duxbury.

Irrespective of what you think of her, her job is to advance the commercial interests of WHUFC. In that respect she played a blinder yesterday. What is clear to anybody who actually watched the meeting unfold was the signalling from the committee that they wanted the WH board to 'make them an offer' for the stadium. I don't think even she could believe her luck - she looked astonished that they were in effect asking the board to name their price! No doubt such an outcome will enrage her many detractors to the point of apoplexy judging by some of the comments. But you can't deny that owning the stadium outright and taking full control of the ground is a bad thing surely?

She knows her position of strength is that no Olympic stadium is ever going to be a viable business without the power and money that comes with a big football club. That was true if they bought it or if they rent it.

As soon as G&S weren't allowed to buy the stadium after complaints from Spurs and Orient it was their sole intent to drive a bargain so poor for the LLDC that they would eventually have to relent and sell the stadium to them. They'll probably end up paying less for it now too.

True, but she would argue that the big issue for the club is not being in full operational control of the stadium. That makes everything to do with fixing the many things we complain about re the stadium like pulling teeth.

Yes, its clear they want us to buy the place in the longer term.
There's a couple of problems though. Getting athletics out is one. In respect of that, the updated Birmingham stadium could be a way out.
The other is that the contract is so generous to the club. May be that they'll eventually have to pay us to take it off their hands.
